To assist Head (National Youth Programmes 1) and the section in developing and promoting a sustainable youth activism model in Singapore through the conceptualisation and implementation of various youth empowerment and engagement programmes.
To coordinate all operational details (such as, but not limited to, recruitment, coordinate trainings, develop structures and procedures and market the programmes to the community) of the various youth empowerment and engagement programmes such as (but not limited to) Young ChangeMakers, SHINE Youth Festival, National Youth Forum, etc.
To ensure that NYC’s physical infrastructure and facilities are well maintained and kept in a state of good, safe and serviceable conditions.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversees all administrative matters of National Youth Programmes 1.
• Assists to handle all financial management matters in National Youth Programmes 1.
• Develops, enhances and provides content updates to the relevant websites.
• Establishes a community of practice with retiring and current youths involved in the various youth programmes and galvanise continued participation through physical and online activities.
• Works closely with NYC’s appointed Management Agent to ensure that NYC’s physical infrastructure and facilities are well maintained and kept in a state of good, safe and serviceable conditions.
• Updates contract documents, warranties, operation manuals, as-built architectural, structural drawings, mechanical and electrical drawings and single-line diagrams of all NYC facilities.
• Conducts inspections to ensure that NYC facilities are cleaned at regular intervals to ensure established standards are met.
• Conducts regular visual inspection of NYC facilities to identify if remedial or improvement works are required.
• Works with tenants of the NYC on building matters to ensure compliance with requirements of authorities.
* Other ad-hoc duties not covered under main responsibilities and duties.
The Requirements
Minimum Polytechnic diploma
Desired Polytechnic diploma in business or administration related disciplines, such as Facilities Management
Min Demonstrated project management and/or marketing experience
Desired Minimum of 2 years experience in youth work and/or marketing to youth. People-oriented and meticulous in financial reporting.
Good writing, communication and project management skills.
Proficient in relevant computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Able to have a macro perspective of issues and have an eye for details.
Able to adapt in a dynamic environment. Good interpersonal relationships with all levels, from young people and non-profit organizations to government officials and corporates.
